About Me

My name is Megan Mendez! I am a Graphic Designer, Illustrator, outdoor lover, first-time mom, wife, and donut connoisseur. I currently enjoy learning to climb, cook, and return to hiking. I created this blog to share my Art and adventures while telling stories from my life to inspire you to overcome mental health obstacles.

In 2020 I developed Panic Disorder and PTSD from trauma. This blog is a way to share my journey of gaining my confidence back and making my life even better than it was before.

My original idea for this blog was about Women getting outdoors. Now I think it’s more complicated than that. I want to share every possible obstacle and how it shouldn’t stop you from trying. Such as you are overcoming anxiety, learning how to be a parent, or trying to be more outdoorsy.

Let me share a little bit about what I have been experiencing. I used to love going out with friends and being outdoors! On the weekend you would find me hanging out with friends or getting outside. You would find me kayaking, hiking, camping, and traveling when I could. I would drive everywhere by myself and spend a lot of time alone.

As these “situations developed such as, I started having a lot of panic attacks. I started hanging out less with people and found comfort with a few people. I stopped driving by myself due to the fear of having a panic attack and not being able to get help. This created more trouble in my life by not being able to go to the store by myself or anywhere. I went from hyper-independent to super-dependent on the people in my life.

So much has changed since this started. I have met people that have changed my life, lost people along the way, learned about what is happening to me, and started an adventure of healing.

You can expect from this blog adventures, steps in overcoming panic disorder, healing from trauma, art, and how to get outdoors.

I wish you all the best on your adventure. Know that there is light at the end of the tunnel just that the tunnel may have some twists and turns.

Happy trails to you!
